For centuries now, Pubs have been known to be focal points in the community. A place where ideas, opinions, problems and news can be shared. Where lifelong friends are made and soulmates are found.
The Snug & The Village Inn are just two of the many wonderful Pubs that we have within the Durham Region, but they hold a very special place in my heart. I first walked through the doors of the Village Inn, too young to drink, too poor to buy food, however I still felt accepted. I went to watch an open mic that I had heard so much about. I was obviously impressed after watching a performance from Sue Latimer and friends and it made me aspire to get in front of people and play music. Before long, I was legal drinking age, sharing drinks and food with new lifelong friends and up there on stage playing at open mics.
Not everyone's story is similar but the fact is that there are so many stories within those walls. So many life changing events have occurred, and these are truly places that shape our community everyday. The atmosphere is engaging and the staff are vibrant and incredibly friendly. All I can say about their food is that you have to go and try it for yourself, you won't be disappointed.
