TIME AND DEDICATION ARE TWO CRUCIAL COMPONENTS TO STARTING A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION. GREAT IDEAS ARE WHAT KEEP THEM RUNNING.
In small communities like Bowmanville, ON, starting a non-profit organization like Brunchkins can been extremely difficult. Even with a tremendous amount of support from the local public and businesses, it is not uncommon to experience "giving fatigue". That's what Kate Craine had realized and that's what she is working hard to overcome by starting an organization called One By One Breadworks.
One By One Breadworks is a wholesale bakery that uses its profits to support Brunckins. Brunchkins was started 3 Years ago by Kate Craine and Sharon McLean. It's a non-profit organization that provides a nutritious breakfast and packable lunches to elementary school children in non-profit housing.
This is the closest thing to "having your cake and eating it too". Although they don't serve cake, you can enjoy their Ya-Ya's Chocolate Chip cookies, Tear and Share Garlic Bread, French Classic Bread and so much more. PLUS...when you purchase these freshly and locally baked goods, that money is used to fuel kids for school.
Please check them out at their location Downtown Bowmanville (24 Division St) and be sure to give them a Like on FB. Below are some links to One By One Breadworks and Brunchkins
